Actor Jang Dong-ju unleashed a fierce response to malicious comments tied to his phone-hacking ordeal.
On the 5th, Jang shared an Instagram Story calling out "losers hiding behind anonymity" and exposed several anonymous hate comments.
Some netizens commented on his Instagram posts, saying, "Sex cam? Wow, you'd even sell your house," and "His DMs with women probably have nothing but dirty talk and porn clips…" Jang shot back: "There is an endless amount of material on my phone that cannot be disclosed to the public. I have contracts that require strict confidentiality," adding, "Is the only 'secret' on your phone a trashy sex-cam video? Before you judge others based on your own level, I hope you realize that your way of thinking doesn't go beyond that."
Addressing the phrase "probably nothing but dirty stuff," Jang warned, "It feels incredibly ignorant and offensive. Have you ever looked through my phone? Is your phone filled with nothing but sexual talk and explicit videos?"
Jang revealed on January 29 that he had been blackmailed after his phone was hacked, enduring months of monetary demands. To raise cash, he went into debt and suffered losses totaling tens of billions of won, and said his family also endured severe hardship. He apologized to those affected and vowed to repay every last debt.
Meanwhile, Jang currently stars as Hyun Woo-seok in the SBS drama No Tail to Tell.
