Actress Go Jun-hee opened up about philtrum reduction surgery (often called an upper lip lift), sharing her honest thoughts and the very real reason she can’t easily go through with it.
On the 9th, Go Jun-hee posted a new vlog on her YouTube channel, showing the bags and beauty items she uses every day and giving fans a peek into her routine.
Explaining why she’s been into backpacks lately, Go said, "I once went to Berlin, and almost everyone there wore backpacks. The people I met at select shops dressed so well and commuted by bike with backpacks on, and it looked incredibly cool." She added that she’s a bit of a "carry-everything" type and always packs a variety of cosmetics in her bag.
Recently, she’s become obsessed with lip makeup. "These days I’m hooked on nude but lively lip colors," she said. "I like to first apply lip balm for moisture and then layer on lip products." She continued, "I love an over-lined lip look, so I always carry a lip pencil," adding, "I do think it would be nice if my upper lip looked a little fuller."
As the conversation went on, Go spoke candidly about philtrum reduction surgery too. "I’ve thought it might be nice to get a philtrum reduction, but it’s not a procedure you can just do on a whim," she said. She continued, "If I get surgery, wouldn’t I have to pause my YouTube for a while? I heal slowly, so even doing just one thing takes me a long time. If I were to get a philtrum reduction, I think I’d need to take about a year and a half off."
Earlier this January, Go made headlines when she appeared on the MBC variety show Omniscient Interfering View and frankly admitted to getting eye surgery.
