Actor Joo Jong-hyuk opens up about how his public recognition surged after Extraordinary Attorney Woo and shares a slew of behind-the-scenes stories.
The March 11 broadcast of MBC’s variety show Radio Star will be a special titled ‘Multi-Talented’ featuring guests Jin Seo-yeon, Geum Sae-rok, Joo Jong-hyuk, and Kwak Beom.
Joo Jong-hyuk, who drew major attention as Kwon Min-woo—nicknamed the ‘Tactician’—in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, admits his fame skyrocketed. He recalls how unexpected messages flooded his DMs after the drama aired and shares how people reacted at the time. He also looks back on the nerves he felt at the very first script reading, confessing, "I was sweating bullets at the very first table read," as he candidly describes the pressure and tense atmosphere.
He also talks about his latest challenge on stage. Joo reveals he’s building new acting chops by playing a thug in a play directed by Jang Jin, and he dishes on his chemistry with co-star Geum Sae-rok and the vibe in the rehearsal room.
On top of that, Joo surprises with an unexpected personal credential: influenced by his father, who runs a taekwondo studio in Incheon, he started taekwondo at a young age and is now a 4th-dan black belt. He even demonstrates high kicks in the studio, leaving the cast in awe.
