The film The King's Warden has surpassed 11.88 million moviegoers, a shocking milestone that pushes past Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War and writes a new chapter in Korean cinema.

According to the Korean Film Council’s KOBIS database on the 11th, The King's Warden drew 177,195 admissions on the 10th alone, holding the No. 1 spot at the box office. Its cumulative total stands at 11,884,042.

The film topped 10 million admissions on its 31st day of release. It currently ranks 21st among the highest-grossing films of all time and is expected to overtake Exhuma this weekend to climb to 20th.

The King's Warden is set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, portraying the exiled child monarch Danjong after his dethronement and the villagers of Gwangcheongol who receive him. The film stars Yoo Hae-jin and Park Ji-hoon and is directed by Jang Hang-jun.
