Shocking comeback alert—JTBC’s music variety show Hidden Singer is returning with a brand-new season, roughly four years after Season 7.

Confirmed to premiere on the 31st, Hidden Singer 8 pits some of Korea’s most iconic vocalists against master impressionists who can recreate them with jaw-dropping accuracy in a head-to-head stage showdown.

This season promises a star-studded original artist lineup across genres and generations. Sim Soo-bong, Kim Jang-hoon, Kim Hyun-jung, Jung-in, Younha, Lee Seung-gi, Ha Hyun-woo, 10cm, and Davichi’s Lee Hae-ri are among the artists known for their singular musical worlds who are set to appear. The production team teased, “We’ll showcase an expanded musical spectrum with stages spanning ballad, trot, rock, indie, dance, and R&B/soul.”

In particular, a special stage spotlighting legendary singer Sim Soo-bong’s musical journey is in the works, expected to deliver deeply moving moments.

The newly unveiled poster also grabs attention. Broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo, a former announcer, is shown in an archer’s pose—except the arrow’s tip is a microphone, cleverly symbolizing the show’s concept of guessing between the original singer and the impressionist. The large number 8 behind Jeon not only marks the season but also evokes the infinity symbol, hinting at endless thrills and emotions in the new season.

Since its first season in 2012, Hidden Singer has cemented itself as a flagship music variety show known for countless viral stages. Notably, Young Tak, who appeared as an impressionist in Season 2, returned in Season 7 as the original artist, making major headlines.

Meanwhile, Hidden Singer 8 is slated for at least 12 episodes, rolling out fresh stages every week starting with its first broadcast on the 31st at 8:50 p.m.
