BLACKPINK member and actress Jisoo is set to receive the 'Madame Figaro Rising Star Award' at the Cannes International Series Festival.
On the 10th (local time), the Cannes International Series Festival announced, "Global K-pop icon and rising TV star Jisoo will receive the 'Madame Figaro Rising Star Award' on April 23."
The Cannes International Series Festival is an annual awards event held in Cannes, France, celebrating drama and series content from around the world. It takes place roughly one month before the Cannes Film Festival. The 'Madame Figaro Rising Star Award' is presented each year to an emerging actor to watch.
The organizers said, "Jisoo is a next-generation artist who continually reinvents herself," adding, "From sold-out world tours to album releases, she has cemented her status as a global pop icon." They continued, "With more than 80 million Instagram followers, she wields significant influence across music, fashion, luxury, and film."
Meanwhile, Jisoo has drawn major attention by starring in the recently released Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand. The title hit No. 4 on the Global Top 10 Non-English Shows within just three days of release, marking a strong performance. Although debates over Jisoo’s acting have sparked controversy, it is noteworthy that international viewers are responding positively.
