The tvN Saturday-Sunday drama 'Typhoon Businessman', which premiered on the 11th, realistically recreates the atmosphere of 1997 and has received positive reviews from viewers immediately after its broadcast. The Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' is also maintaining its popularity steadily since its release.

According to the OTT content ranking site FlixPatrol on the 14th, the Netflix series 'Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret.' ranked 6th in the global Netflix TV show section as of the previous day. Although there were concerns about the show due to a change in directors before its release, it proved to be a hit by recording 4 million views (the number of views divided by the total runtime of the show) just three days after airing. It also ranked in the top 10 in 46 countries, establishing itself as a global sensation.

Following closely at 7th place is 'Typhoon Businessman'. According to Nielsen Korea, the show recorded an average nationwide viewership of 6.8% for its second episode, with a peak of 7.5%, and an average of 6.3% in the metropolitan area, peaking at 7.2%, showing an upward trend compared to the previous episode. It ranked first in its timeslot on cable and affiliate channels, marking its entry into a full-fledged box office success.

'Typhoon Businessman' depicts the struggles of a rookie businessman, Kang Taepung (played by Lee Junho), who becomes the president of a trading company with no employees or funds during the IMF financial crisis. Even before its broadcast, the show generated high expectations through its posters and trailers due to its realistic representation, and after airing, the meticulous details such as props, costumes, and Seoul dialect have been praised by viewers for their impressive immersion.

In the film sector, while the absence of K-movies continues, the popularity of the Netflix animated series 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (hereafter referred to as 'KDH') shows no signs of waning. The show currently ranks 3rd in the Netflix film section and continues its steady success.

According to a report from the BBC on the 12th (local time), director Maggie Kang expressed in an interview her belief that “we can create more stories with the characters in this universe,” reflecting her expectations for a sequel. However, she added, “there’s nothing specifically confirmed yet.” Regarding the recently trending possibility of a live-action adaptation among fans, she delineated, saying, “It would be difficult to move these characters into the real world.”

Meanwhile, Lee Jae, the composer and singer who voiced a member of the group Huntress in the show, plans to release his first solo single, 'In Another World', on the 24th. This move seems to signal the beginning of his domestic activities based on the show’s global popularity. Lee Jae will continue his solo activities appearing on tvN's entertainment show 'You Quiz on the Block' and KBS Cool FM's 'Lee Eun-ji’s Music Plaza'.
