Shocking K-drama reboot buzz: Actor Jung Gun-joo is reportedly in talks to join a revival of a 1990s drama that once sparked a nationwide craze.

On March 12, Sports Chosun reported that Jung Gun-joo has been offered a role in M: Reboot. His agency commented, "We received the offer and are positively reviewing it."

M: Reboot reimagines, for the first time in about 30 years, the 1994 MBC drama MapleStory M. Back then, Shim Eun-ha’s villainous turn became a major talking point as the show soared to a peak 50% viewership rating with a 38.6% average, dominating its era. All eyes are on whether the reboot can reignite that same frenzy.

Meanwhile, with news that former I.O.I member and actress Jung Chaeyeon is set to appear, viewers are watching to see if Jung Gun-joo joins the cast, potentially pairing the two in the same project.
