Actor Ha Jung-woo’s first small-screen role in 19 years gripped viewers with nail-biting tension.

On March 14, the premiere of Mad Concrete Dreams (hereafter the series) showed Gi Su-jong (played by Ha Jung-woo) and Min Hwal-seong (Kim Jun-han) staging a fake kidnapping in a bid to secure 3 billion won.

Episode 2, which aired on the 15th, opened with Min deciding to kidnap his own wife, Jeon Yi-kyung (Jung Soo-jung). To raise the money, Min approached Gi with a plan; Gi agreed and helped confine Jeon Yi-kyung in a freezer warehouse. Gi then practiced his kidnapper act, demanding a 3 billion won ransom from Yi-kyung’s mother, Jeon Yang-ja (Kim Geum-soon). But when Yang-ja reported it to the police, everything spun in an unexpected direction. With law enforcement involved, the case rapidly escalated, and during the hostage exchange, Min suffered a fall accident. Evading the police search, Gi went on the run, cranking up the suspense.

Meanwhile, just two episodes in, the fast-paced twists of ‘Mad Concrete Dreams’ are drawing a heated response from viewers. The series airs Saturdays and Sundays at 9:10 p.m.
