A crash caused by disobeying road markings is drawing intense attention.
On March 16, the YouTube channel 'Han Moon Chul TV' uploaded a video titled 'Episode 26680. Took the wrong exit lane, tried to change lanes in a rush, and collided with a car coming from behind'.
According to the clip, a driver who entered the wrong exit lane tried a sudden lane change and slammed into a car approaching from behind. The dashcam shows the car cutting across a white safety zone (painted chevron area), and the crash happens just two seconds later. Police classified it as a violation-of-instructions crash, and the driver could face criminal charges. Some viewers argue liability could be split around 70:30, but many say the trailing driver was unfairly caught up in the impact. The dashcam is fueling different interpretations, and debate continues over rule violations inside the safety zone.
Comments heavily criticized the dashcam owner: "The dashcam owner has no conscience... I hope they get punished." Another wrote, "It's amazing you even submitted this. If you made a mistake, admit it, promise never to do it again instead of wasting time, and properly fix the other driver's car that got hit out of the blue."
