Heartbreaking—comedian Giru Shin lost her mother on March 17, according to her agency JDB Entertainment.
On March 18, JDB Entertainment confirmed that Shin’s mother passed away the previous day after her health took a turn for the worse.
Shin has been listed as the chief mourner and is keeping vigil at the wake amid deep sorrow.
The wake is being held at Suilnakwon Incheon Funeral Home in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. The funeral procession is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. on March 20. The deceased will first be laid to rest at Incheon Family Park before being moved to the Incheon City Columbarium.
Shin debuted in 2005 on KBS 2TV’s Pokso Club, and in 2007 she joined SBS as a ninth-term special-recruit comedian. Since then, she has remained active on SBS’s People Looking for a Laugh and Deongchi Survival - Meok-jji-ppa, tvN’s Comedy Big League, and Netflix’s Comedy Revenge.
