Actress Yeom Hye-ran shared a heartwarming story about Song Hye-kyo’s thoughtful gesture from the Netflix original The Glory, and it’s winning praise from viewers.

Appearing on the March 18 episode of the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block, Yeom looked back on her 27-year acting journey and revealed behind-the-scenes moments. She recalled how, after years in obscurity, she finally became known to the public through the drama Dear My Friends, reflecting on her ties with Na Moon-hee and her encounter with writer Noh Hee-kyung. She then connected those experiences to meeting writer Kim Eun-sook through Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, which ultimately led her to The Glory.

Yeom drew particular attention with one on-set incident involving Song Hye-kyo during the filming of The Glory. Feeling unsatisfied with her last scene, Yeom muttered to herself, “I want to reshoot that,” not realizing her mic had picked it up. The production team suggested doing another take—and despite already changing outfits for her next scene, Song Hye-kyo didn’t hesitate and immediately returned to reshoot.

“She had already changed, but she stepped right back in without a second thought. I was so grateful,” Yeom recalled. The scene they completed together led to Hyun-nam’s memorable line in the drama and was praised for deepening the show’s immersion.

The broadcast also spotlighted Yeom’s path as an actor. She once dreamed of becoming a Korean language teacher and even finished her teaching practicum before working at a publishing company—then she took a leap into acting. To make ends meet, she juggled multiple part-time jobs while spending years on the theater stage before finally breaking into television.

Yeom made her debut in 2000 with the stage play Choi Seonsaeng and continues to remain active today.
