Actor Yoo Yeon-seok’s latest drama is rapidly emerging as the new Friday–Saturday ratings powerhouse.
According to Nielsen Korea, SBS’s Friday–Saturday drama Phantom Lawyer (hereafter referred to as "Shin Yi-rang") has already surged to an 8.7% viewership rating by just its second episode, drawing major buzz.
Shin Yi-rang (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) accidentally gains the ability to see ghosts and now takes on cases head‑first as a self‑proclaimed “ghost specialist lawyer.” Starting with Episode 3, he officially begins accepting requests from ghosts, setting the stage for what’s next.
The central case in Episode 3 is the suspicious death of an idol trainee. The ghost who seeks Shin Yi-rang’s help remembers falling after dancing in the practice room. While the agency insists it was a suicide, that account clashes with the ghost’s memory, making the truth hard to pin down. Han Na-hyun (played by Esom) pushes the possibility of homicide and drives an active investigation. The missing phone of the victim, which disappeared from the scene, is expected to be a crucial key to the case.
Meanwhile, Episode 3 of ‘Shin Yi-rang’ airs on Friday the 20th at 9:50 p.m.
