Shocking comeback: Director Jang Hang-jun’s so-called “sore spot” film, Rebound, returns to theaters on April 3 — and the director and cast will meet audiences in person with stage greetings across major cinemas starting April 4.

On the 20th, distributor Barunson E&A announced the launch of stage greeting events for the film Rebound.

Rebound tells the inspiring true story of the 2012 National High School Basketball Championship, where a completely overlooked underdog team embarked on an eight-day miracle run with a new coach and just six players.

Director Jang Hang-jun, along with stars Ahn Jae-hong, Lee Shin-young, Jung Jin-woon, Kim Taek, Jung Geon-joo, Kim Min, and Ahn Ji-ho, will greet audiences to celebrate the re-release. The tour kicks off April 4 at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall and continues at CGV Wangsimni, Lotte Cinema World Tower, Lotte Cinema Konkuk Univ., and Megabox COEX.

On the same day, Jang Hang-jun’s film The King’s Warden surpassed 14 million admissions, climbing to fifth on the all-time box office chart — fueling buzz over whether the re-released Rebound can stage a resurgent, word-of-mouth hit.

Meanwhile, Rebound reopens nationwide on April 3.
