Actor Kim Young-dae will step away from fans briefly as he begins his mandatory military service in April.
On the 25th, his agency Outer Universe announced, "Kim Young-dae will enter boot camp sometime in April and serve as an active-duty soldier in the Army." The specific enlistment date and location will be revealed once finalized. His discharge is expected around next fall.
Born in 1996, Kim debuted in 2017 with the web drama Jeonjijeok Jjaksarang Sijeom: Teukbyeolpan and has since built a strong presence through diverse projects including Extraordinary You, The Penthouse: War in Life, and The Moon that Rises in the Day. Most recently, he appeared in Dear X, To the Moon, and Boyfriend on Demand, continuing an active streak.
After a busy run leading up to enlistment, Kim will take an unavoidable hiatus during his service. Fans are watching to see him return even more mature and accomplished.
