NU'EST alum Kim Jong-hyun announced a fresh start after completing his 18-month mandatory service in the Korean Army, signaling a highly anticipated return to activities.

On the 22nd, Kim shared a photo in uniform on Instagram with the caption, "Victory! I've been discharged," officially marking the end of his service.

He added, "Thank you so, so much to ANDU (official fandom name) for waiting 18 months. Because of ANDU, I was able to get through it," expressing heartfelt gratitude to fans.

Kim debuted in 2012 with the group NU'EST and earned love for hits like 'Hello', 'Love Paint', and 'I'm in Trouble'. In 2017, he gained wider recognition by competing on Mnet's survival audition program Produce 101 Season 2.

After the team's disbandment, Kim reinvented himself as a solo artist and showcased his acting chops in dramas such as Let Me Be Your Knight, Beginning is the First Kiss, and Sound Candy. Having enlisted as active-duty Army in September 2024 and faithfully completed his service, all eyes are now on his next move.
