Comedian Lee Seung-yoon revealed that he used rerun fees from MBN’s infotainment show I Am a Natural Person to buy a home for his parents.

On the March 25 broadcast of tvN’s variety show You Quiz on the Block, longtime I Am a Natural Person co-hosts Yoon Taek and Lee Seung-yoon appeared and shared a variety of behind-the-scenes stories. The duo grabbed attention as they talked about 15 years of seeking out “natural people” and unveiled the show’s jaw-dropping records.

Yoon Taek said, “I Am a Natural Person is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The number of episodes has easily surpassed 700.” He especially shocked viewers by adding, “It’s the No. 1 rerun program in South Korea.”

When Yoo Jae-suk asked about the rerun fees, Lee Seung-yoon explained, “They don’t come in quarterly—it’s paid once a year,” calling it “a lump sum that comes in all at once.” He added, “I saved that money and bought my parents a house—it helped a lot,” warming hearts.

They also cleared up misconceptions about the size of those fees. Yoon Taek noted, “Just because there are many episodes doesn’t mean rerun fees increase without limit,” explaining that there is a cap. Even so, the two expressed gratitude for being able to keep the program going for such a long time.

Lee Seung-yoon previously remarked that his I Am a Natural Person rerun fees were “about the price of a mid-size car,” suggesting that steady residuals have added up to a meaningful outcome.

I Am a Natural Person first aired in 2012. The program follows city dwellers worn down by stress, pressure, and competition as they meet people living simply in nature—finding ease and happiness even without material wealth.
