(G)I-DLE member Shuhua is making a shocking big-screen debut as the lead of Happy Days.
On the 26th, CUBE Entertainment announced that Shuhua has been cast as the lead in Happy Days. Centered on two sisters with clashing personalities, the film follows how their calm daily lives are upended—and transformed—after a chance encounter with a stray cat.
The film is directed by Feng-I Fiona Roan, who won Best New Director at the Golden Horse Awards—one of the most prestigious Chinese-language film festivals—for her debut feature American Girl.
Shuhua plays Lin Jiaqi, the youngest in the family and a bright, free-spirited lead. Through a stray cat she happens to meet, she forges a new connection that changes how she sees life.
"As an actor, I want to show a different side of myself," Shuhua said. "Lin Jiaqi’s emotional side is similar to mine, but her tendency to worry about the future and avoid it is a challenge I need to tackle. I’ll deliver the character’s story at my own pace."
Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE kicked off their fourth world tour, '2026 i-dle WORLD TOUR [Syncopation],' in February. Starting in Seoul and moving through Taipei and Bangkok, the tour will hit Melbourne and Sydney in May, Singapore, Yokohama, and Hong Kong in June, and major North American cities in August.
Earlier, member Minnie also made headlines with news of her acting debut alongside Ra Mi-ran and Go Kyung-pyo in Wonjo Mayak Tteokjip.
