Actor Park Bo-young’s long-awaited return to the crime genre is finally here — and the drama is already making waves.

On the 30th, Disney+ Original series Gold Land dropped its main trailer, teasing a high-stakes tale of desire and betrayal surrounding 150 billion won in smuggled gold bars.

The trailer opens with Park Bo-young’s gripping narration — her first dive into the crime genre — instantly pulling viewers in. Kim Hee-joo (played by Park Bo-young), a customs officer who dreams of a quiet life, agrees to her boyfriend Lee Do-kyung’s (Lee Hyun-wook) request to let a smuggling ring’s coffin slip through security screening. That one decision drags her into a massive gold-smuggling case. When she discovers 150 billion won in gold hidden inside the coffin, she’s forced to confront her own desire — and begins making choices she can’t take back.

Director Park (Lee Kwang-soo), an executive from the syndicate hunting down Kim Hee-joo after she steals the coffin, launches a ruthless pursuit, cranking up the tension. Desperate to survive with the gold in hand — even taking up a gun — Hee-joo develops a taut, dangerous dynamic with Woo-gi (Kim Sung-cheol), the first to catch on to the gold’s existence. Woo-gi cozies up to her citing their childhood connection and proposes a partnership, but his unpredictable moves only raise the stakes.

Things spiral further when corrupt cop Kim Jin-man (Kim Hee-won) learns about the gold, setting off a perilous clash of desires and interests. “If it doesn’t belong to anyone, why can’t I take it?” Hee-joo’s line symbolically marks her turn toward desire. Her eyes harden as the chilling command “Kill.” lands — a striking hint at her dramatic transformation.

Gold Land follows Kim Hee-joo, who gets her hands on a smuggling ring’s 150 billion won in gold and fights to survive as greed and betrayal collide all around her. With Park Bo-young leading a powerhouse cast — Kim Sung-cheol, Lee Hyun-wook, Kim Hee-won, Moon Jung-hee, and Lee Kwang-soo — the series promises razor-sharp immersion.

Right after the trailer drop, fans reacted: “We’ve waited so long,” “It already looks addictive,” “Can’t wait to see a new side of Kim Sung-cheol,” and “Park Bo-young in a crime genre? Say less.”

Meanwhile, Gold Land will premiere episodes 1 and 2 on April 29, then release two episodes weekly for a total of 10.
