VERIVERY’s Kangmin set the internet abuzz after openly confessing his deep admiration for BTS while previewing his first solo single album 'Free Falling' and sharing how he feels ahead of release.
In a recent press interview held in Seoul, Kangmin said, "Watching BTS made me want to become an idol," adding, "I’ve been nursing a crush on them." On their overlapping comeback timing with BTS, he shared, "It’s so surreal. It happened just once before, and I only saw them from a distance back then. Since it overlapped again by chance this time, I’d be happy if they think, 'Looks like a junior is growing up.'"
BTS recently dropped their 5th full-length album 'ARIRANG' and held 'BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG' at Gwanghwamun Square on the 21st. According to Netflix’s announcement on the 25th, the live-streamed event pulled in a massive 18.4 million viewers in a single day.
Meanwhile, Kangmin’s first solo single 'Free Falling' draws on the time he has built with his team and his experience on Mnet Boys II Planet. He took part in the overall production process to capture his own thoughts and emotions. The title track 'Free Falling' portrays the anxious emotions inside a relationship that keeps repeating love and hurt. The album packs three tracks in total: 'Intro: Small, Fragile and Still Here' and 'In the Mirror' alongside the title.
