Hwang Seok-hee, widely known for translating major global film releases, is facing serious allegations following a recent report that has sparked widespread discussion.

On March 30, Korean outlet Dispatch reported claims that Hwang had been involved in multiple incidents in the past, including alleged molestation and assault cases dating back several years.

According to the report, one alleged incident occurred in 2005 in Chuncheon, where he is said to have approached a woman walking alone at night and forcibly made physical contact. The report also states that the situation escalated into violence when the victim resisted.

A second alleged incident, reported to have taken place shortly after on the same day, involved another woman. The outlet claimed that there was an attempt to commit a similar act, along with physical assault involving an accompanying individual. It further stated that legal consequences were imposed at the time, including a suspended sentence.

Additional allegations mentioned in the report include claims involving a former student, raising further concerns about the scope and severity of the accusations.

The resurfacing of these claims has drawn significant public attention, particularly given Hwang’s reputation for working on high-profile projects such as Project Hail Mary.

As of now, further responses or official statements regarding the allegations have yet to be confirmed.
