Actors Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi just teased a "bromelo"—a bromance-meets-melodrama dynamic.
On the 31st, the Netflix series Bloodhounds Season 2 (hereafter "Bloodhounds 2") held its press conference, attended by Woo Do-hwan, Lee Sang-yi, and Jung Ji-hoon.
Returning for Season 2, Woo Do-hwan revealed, "I wanted to show the results of three years of training," sharing that he bulked up by about 13 kg (around 29 lbs). He added, "I’d already gone through a bulking phase once, so this time felt relatively easier," and explained, "If you stay consistent, the workout part is straightforward—compared to other preparations, it felt much simpler." He continued about building his character, saying, "For an actor, shaping the body is actually the easiest part. Compared to researching the inner world and becoming the character, the external changes are far more manageable."
Discussing the on-screen relationship between Geon-woo (played by Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (played by Lee Sang-yi), Woo promised, "We’re going beyond bromance to deliver a new genre we’re calling a 'bromelo'," adding, "Both characters have lost someone precious, so they’re like fate-bound partners who desperately want to protect each other."
"Bloodhounds 2" premieres on Netflix on April 3.
