Netflix is unleashing a shocking new YA (young adult) horror series, If Wishes Could Kill, marrying a rookie director’s stylish touch with the raw energy of rising stars.

Premiering April 24, the Netflix series If Wishes Could Kill follows high schoolers who receive sudden death omens after using a wish-granting app called ‘If Wishes Could Kill.’ Cursed and running out of time, they fight to outwit the doom that’s coming for them. It’s drawing attention as Netflix’s first-ever Korean YA horror series.

Leading the cast are Jeon So-young, Kang Mina, Baek Sun-ho, Hyun Woo-seok, and Lee Hyo-je. Director Park Yun-seo said, "I wanted both the characters and the audience to experience the fear together," explaining that first-person POV shots, body-cam footage, and Atmos work were used to build a hyper-real sense of space. This distinctive approach is set to push If Wishes Could Kill into a new realm of YA horror.

Meanwhile, All of Us Are Dead, Sweet Home and other breakout hits have helped Netflix propel fresh talent onto the global stage — and If Wishes Could Kill is poised to carry that torch as a proving ground for the next generation.

Early viewers are already buzzing: "Chilling vibes in warm weather," "This could be a next-level school thriller," and "After 'All of Us Are Dead' comes 'If Wishes Could Kill.'"
