Project group Wanna One will reunite after nearly seven years — and they’re meeting fans in person.
On April 1, Mnet announced via its official social media that the reality show Wanna One Go: Back to Base will hold an opening ceremony. The event will take place on April 6 at Sangam DMC Culture Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and it will be open to everyone with no pre-registration required.
The ceremony will also feature a program designed for direct interaction with fans. From April 1 to 3, fans can leave questions for the members through Q&A TIME. Selected submissions will be reflected in on-site events and the broadcast.
In the newly released teaser for Wanna One Go: Back to Base, members Kang Daniel, Park Ji Hoon, Bae Jin Young, Ha Sung Woon, Ong Seong Wu, Hwang Min Hyun, Park Woo Jin, Yoon Ji Sung, Lee Dae Hwi, and Kim Jae Hwan share their excitement about reuniting. Gathering again after so long, they reminisce about their past reality shoots and show an even tighter bond.
Wanna One was formed in 2017 through Mnet’s audition program Produce 101 Season 2 and received massive love with hit songs like ‘Energetic’ and ‘Beautiful’. Although they wrapped up activities in 2019, this reunion signals another long-awaited meeting with fans.
Fans reacted to the reunion and opening ceremony news with comments like “Finally,” “I thought it was an April Fools’ joke,” “I’m actually crying,” “Total throwback unlocked,” and “Just wait.”
Meanwhile, Wanna One Go: Back to Base is slated to premiere on April 28.
