Despite a tax evasion controversy, nothing seems to be getting in the way. Actor Kim Seon Ho is set to show a different side of himself on Coupang Play’s variety show Bonjour Bakery alongside Kim Hee Ae, Cha Seung Won, and Lee Ki-taek.

On the 2nd, Coupang Play confirmed that Bonjour Bakery will premiere on May 8 and unveiled its cast lineup. Set in a special dessert cafe that opens in a countryside village, Bonjour Bakery is a healing-themed baking variety show where seniors and the cast connect and share stories. In particular, it differentiates itself by operating as a “seniors-only cafe” open exclusively to guests aged 65 and older.

Cha Seung Won takes charge in the kitchen. Having proven his cooking skills on various shows, Cha now tackles French desserts, transforming into a patissier. Joining him as an assistant is Lee Ki-taek, who’s expected to bring bright energy and endearing clumsiness.

The front-of-house team also draws attention. Kim Hee Ae steps in as the general manager, grounding the cafe with her signature calm and elegant presence. Kim Seon Ho becomes a barista, engaging closely with guests and showcasing his easygoing charm.

Before filming, the cast reportedly trained hands-on in baking and coffee skills to prepare. With four distinct personalities syncing up and seniors sharing life stories, the show aims to deliver heartfelt warmth.

After the release of Netflix’s Can this love be translated?, Kim Seon Ho found himself at the center of controversy over alleged tax evasion tied to a family-run corporation. Issues raised included payroll processing methods and the use of a corporate card during the company’s operations, drawing heavy criticism. Even so, Kim remains booked and busy with stage plays, fan meetings, pictorials, and ongoing shoots. He is currently performing in the play Secret Passage and will meet fans on the 11th–12th. He also has upcoming releases on TVING’s Unfriend, Disney+’s Bewitched, and tvN’s Bless the Congressman.

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar Korea, Kim shared, “I want to keep challenging myself with stories that feel human.” He added that with filming, stage prep, and promotions lined up, he recharges by resting at home during short breaks.

Addressing the earlier tax-related allegations, his agency Fantagio stated that the matter stemmed from “operational inexperience,” adding that they are in the process of suspending related activities and wrapping up necessary procedures.
