Actor Lee Seo-jin is stepping onto the theater stage for the first time in his career.
At a press conference held on April 7 for the play ‘Uncle Vanya,’ director Son Sang-gyu and actors Lee Seo-jin and Go Ah-sung shared insights into the production.
Lee will take on the title role of Vanya. Speaking candidly, he joked, “Even before taking the role, I felt like I was going through ‘male menopause,’” adding that it helped him understand the character.
He also explained his decision to join the play, saying that conversations with the director and encouragement from those around him led him to take on the challenge.
However, he did not hide the difficulty of the process, admitting, “Honestly, I already regret taking it. It’s so tough that it might be my first and last play,” drawing attention to the intensity of rehearsals.
Meanwhile, the production of ‘Uncle Vanya’ will run from May 7 to 31.
