Actor Lim Ji-yeon’s comedic chops are already ramping up hype among prospective viewers.
On the 8th, SBS’s new Friday–Saturday drama Brave New World dropped a striking teaser poster featuring lead Lim Ji-yeon, instantly grabbing attention.
In the revealed poster, Lim appears as if she’s tearing through a lavish mother-of-pearl folding screen, stealing the spotlight with a breathtaking, scene-stealing aura. Playing Shin Se-ri, a notorious Joseon-era villainess who descends upon 21st-century Korea, she gazes in wonder at modern sights like skyscrapers and cars, while her survival-driven grit hints at the explosive moves she’s about to make.
As soon as the poster surfaced, netizens reacted with excitement, saying, "Lim Ji-yeon was born for historical dramas" and "The hanbok already looks gorgeous," among many other comments.
Meanwhile, ‘Brave New World’ follows Shin Se-ri, an unknown actress who becomes vicious after being possessed by the soul of an infamous Joseon villainess, and chaebol Cha Se-gye (played by Heo Nam-joon), known as a "monster of capitalism"—charting their clash and romance. The series premieres on May 8.
