The recently reunited K-pop trio SeeYa dropped a shocking confession about their glory days: behind the glitz, they were broke and battling internal rifts—exposing a bitter snapshot of the industry’s system.

On the 8th, a video featuring Nam Gyu-ri, Lee Bo-ram, and Kim Yeon-ji was posted on comedian-turned MC Ha Ji-young’s YouTube channel. Looking back on their early careers, they revealed hardships no one expected. Lee Bo-ram said, "Our songs were hits and our faces were everywhere, but we really had no money," adding that they were once chased out of a diner near their dorm over unpaid tabs—stunning viewers.

She continued, "We kept going to events, but there was no actual payout. People around us thought we were making bank, but in reality we were getting by on cup ramen and cereal." The stark gap between their star image and real life was glaring.

Nam Gyu-ri also recalled, "Outside, people recognized us and chased after us, but when we got back to the dorm, we had to spread newspapers on the floor to live," adding, "In that kind of environment, your self-esteem just collapses."

It wasn’t only financial strain—cracks formed in their relationships, too. The members claimed their former agency deliberately pitted them against one another. Lee Bo-ram said, "One day, an unnie asked, 'They say you said this—Is it true?' Messages were passed along to make us misunderstand each other."

SeeYa agreed that while they appeared to be thriving at their peak, they were simultaneously enduring poverty and psychological turmoil. Their revelations reignite debate over revenue-sharing and management practices in the entertainment industry.

After a long hiatus, SeeYa announced a fresh start last month with the pre-release single 'Even So, We' and plan to drop their 4th full-length album this May.
