Actor Kim Hyang-gi is drawing attention for her choppy-bangs hairstyle in Coupang Play’s new series 'Absolute Value of Romance'.
On April 14, a press conference for the drama was held at The Saint in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul. Director Lee Tae-gon attended alongside actors Kim Hyang-gi, Cha Hak-yeon, Kim Jae-hyun, Son Jung-hyuk, and Kim Dong-gyu.
Discussing her character, Kim said, “The role is so multidimensional that I wanted to make people laugh.” She added that after wrapping her previous project, she considered various styling options, including extensions, before deciding on the choppy bangs herself.
The reveal drew attention as it highlighted her active involvement in shaping the character’s look.
MC Park Kyung-lim also mentioned Kim’s past appearance as a child actor, noting similarities in her look, which added to the discussion.
Fans recalled Kim’s early appearance on SBS’s 'E-News Exclusive', where she gained attention for her visuals at a young age.
Meanwhile, Coupang Play’s 'Absolute Value of Romance' is a high-teen series about a student who writes romance stories and experiences unexpected situations in real life. The series premieres on April 17 at 8 p.m., with Kim playing Yeo I-ju, a student leading a double life as a writer.
