Actor Kim Jae-won stunned viewers by confessing his feelings to Kim Go-eun, cranking up the swoon factor in Yumi's Cells Season 3.
In Episodes 5 and 6 of the TVING original Yumi's Cells Season 3, released on the 27th, Soon-rok (played by Kim Jae-won) experiences a major shift in his feelings for Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun).
To block Juho's (played by Choi Daniel) advances toward Yumi, Soon-rok claimed a "digital after-party," cut off Juho's messages, and invited Yumi to a movie—breaking his own strict "work-life boundaries." But Juho, who already had a crush on Yumi, rushed to the theater, creating an awkward three-person movie outing. Caught in the middle, Yumi grew uncomfortable, mistakenly thinking Soon-rok was trying to set the two up.
Soon after, Soon-rok chased after Yumi, shared an umbrella, and cleared the air. Yumi realized he was a serious, fact-driven person. Even so, despite knowing Yumi liked him, Soon-rok tried to hide his own feelings—going so far as to ask her to set him up on a blind date, doubling down on his reputation as a "brick wall" and a man of principle.
But was Yumi already living rent-free in his heart? Even during the blind date, Soon-rok's feelings for Yumi didn’t waver. When he learned Juho planned to deliver wine to Yumi as an apology, he canceled his date and rushed to the meeting spot where Yumi and Juho were supposed to meet.
Tension flared between Juho and Soon-rok over the wine. Afterward, Soon-rok returned to Yumi to apologize—and finally laid it all bare: "I think I like you, writer."
The moment Soon-rok realized his feelings and confessed to Yumi sent viewers into a collective frenzy. Some reacted, "No way next week is already the finale," and "Please add more episodes!"
Meanwhile, the finale (Episodes 7–8) of Yumi's Cells Season 3 will premiere exclusively on TVING at 6 p.m. KST on May 4.
