A star PD has been in the limelight following allegations of sexual assault, with reports indicating that the controversial figure is Director A, who created tvN’s popular entertainment series 'Sixth Sense'. However, the PD's camp strongly denies these allegations.
On the 3rd, Lee Eun, the lawyer representing victim B, stated in a press release, "The case involves a complaint of sexual assault that occurred just after a second gathering held near the company’s headquarters in August, concerning the PD of the recently aired entertainment program 'Sixth Sense: City Tour 2'. The victim was suddenly removed from the program right after the incident and has since faced multiple secondary traumas."
The lawyer further explained the events of that night, stating, "Most attendees were standing outside, preparing to move to a third location, when the perpetrator approached the victim and suddenly grabbed the victim's forearm and neck. The victim had no prior close relationship with the perpetrator, and there were no special circumstances justifying such physical contact, forcing the victim into a state of great embarrassment."
Following this, B was informed by A that they were being removed from the program. The lawyer explained, "Immediately after being dismissed, the victim discussed the unfairness of the program's removal with senior executives at the company, but did not mention the assault at that time. The victim now hopes the perpetrator admits their wrongdoing and urges the company to take steps to stop the ongoing secondary victimization occurring both inside and outside the organization."
In the midst of this, the law firm Cheongchul, representing the PD of 'Sixth Sense', issued an official statement, saying, "The one who is unilaterally claiming to be the victim made complaints prior to August 20, involving their junior colleagues and external personnel, leading to the decision for a transfer from the existing team."
They reiterated that the allegations of sexual assault are unfounded. The PD's lawyer stated, "It is entirely untrue that A caused sexual humiliation through physical contact with the complainant (B), or made derogatory statements towards the complainant who rejected such contact. The contact that occurred between A and the complainant was limited to a few shoulder bumps while surrounded by many pedestrians and colleagues during a gathering on August 14, and the complainant, as was their norm, had also touched A's shoulder."
In addition, they emphasized, "A strongly denies all allegations of sexual assault, and the company is conducting further investigations, while the investigative agency has not even commenced their first questioning of A. Using the media to destroy the innocent A's reputation and personality is unacceptable and cannot be forgiven. We express serious regret over the actions of the complainant's legal representative, who released false allegations to the media before the investigative agency's judgment. A has never once considered proactive media coverage."
