Comedian Park Na-rae openly expressed her anxiety about her career and future.
In the web entertainment show Narae's Kitchen, which aired on the 12th, comedian Mi-ja appeared as a guest. The two discussed the realistic struggles they face as celebrities. When Mi-ja confessed that she struggled after being notified of her departure from her radio DJ role, which affected her relationship with her then-boyfriend Kim Tae-hyun, Park Na-rae empathized deeply and shared her own thoughts.
Park Na-rae stated, "Being a celebrity is a really rewarding job when things are going well. But when work dries up, it ends immediately. If you are not chosen, it's almost like retirement." She continued, "Even after today's broadcast, I can't help but think, 'Will they call me again tomorrow?' 'Did I mess up today?' 'Will they want to use me again?'" expressing her tendency to self-evaluate repeatedly after filming at home.
Mi-ja reminisced about her days of anonymity, saying, "After my comedian career ended, I looked for a part-time job at a convenience store, but they mostly hired people in their 20s to 30s. As you get older, you lack skills and qualifications, and even part-time work is not easy. It's frightening to know that my livelihood is still tough but I have no options available."
Park Na-rae also shared advice she received from her seniors, saying, "They told me that if you only build recognition without being capable, you become a 'high-class beggar.' Your face is known, but you end up with nothing to offer." She added, "I always ponder what I should do after this job ends."
Park Na-rae debuted as a KBS comedian in 2006. After nearly a decade of being unknown, she eventually rose to prominence and gained popularity in the entertainment industry.
