Jeon In-kwon, the lead vocalist of the rock band Deulgukhwa, has become a topic of discussion by revealing the story behind his famous song 'Turn and Turn and Turn'.
In the web entertainment show Jjanhan Hyung, which aired on the 17th, Jeon In-kwon appeared as a guest along with comedian Kim Jun-hyun, sharing various stories.
Jeon started off by saying, "When I first went to prison, there were 11 of us in one room." He continued, "Everyone had different charges and jobs, but strangely there was one shady guy, and when I asked what his job was, he said, 'I'm a thief.'" This had the filming crew bursting into laughter.
He then revealed, "That guy said, 'I have skills, so I don't do armed robbery.' So, half joking, half serious, I said, 'Once you're released, come rob my house. It's a multi-story house, so you can take everything at once.' And that became a real promise."
Later, Jeon mentioned, "One day, when I went to my studio, I opened the door and it was completely empty. No amplifiers, no turntables, not even a single piece of equipment was left. But there was a note. Looking at the note, it said, 'Brother, I'm taking everything as promised.'" He shared this bittersweet episode with laughter.
As a result of this incident, Jeon felt a "stark contrast" in his life. He stated, "Even though we were in the same time and space, I realized that people's lives are really different, and there's a vast gap between humans. That feeling became the starting point of 'Turn and Turn and Turn.'"
Shin Dong-yeob noted, "At rock festivals, the audience sings this song in unison for several minutes," mentioning the song's significance, to which Jeon In-kwon responded, "Even if we don't sing, the audience starts first," smiling proudly.
Meanwhile, Jeon In-kwon has faced multiple penalties for marijuana and psychotropic substances since his debut.
