Actor Park Jung-min is being considered for the lead role in the drama Macho Man.
On the 21st, Park Jung-min's agency, Sam Company, stated to several media outlets, "Park Jung-min has received an offer to star in the drama Macho Man and is currently reviewing it." My Daily previously reported that Park Jung-min would take on the lead role in Macho Man.
Macho Man is based on a web novel of the same name by writer Kim Tae-goong, which was adapted into a webtoon in 2020 and has achieved a global cumulative view count of 470 million. The story follows a man who rises from an ordinary office worker to a CEO but loses everything he loves in pursuit of his desires. He then travels back to his younger days to rewrite his life.
Park Jung-min is reportedly under serious consideration for the role of Han Yoo-hyun, the protagonist. Han Yoo-hyun is characterized as someone who raced towards success without looking back at those around him. However, after experiencing a tragic ending and returning, he transforms into a 'growth-oriented leader' who helps others who missed their opportunities to realize their potential.
Meanwhile, the direction of Macho Man will be led by actor Kim Hee-won, who previously directed the Disney+ original Lighting Store.
