Kim Yoo-jung is taking on a buzzworthy new challenge as a wronged spirit in the fantasy occult comedy Revenger, directed by Hong Eui-jeong of Voice of Silence. The star-studded project officially began filming on November 17.
Directed by Blue Dragon Best New Director and Baeksang Arts Awards winner Hong Eui-jeong, Revenger finalized its cast and kicked off production on November 17.
The story follows Yoon-ha, who becomes a ghost after an unjust death, and a dokkaebi (Korean goblin) who has long dreamed of becoming human, as they embark on a quest to save her younger sibling.
Kim Yoo-jung plays Yoon-ha, a ghost who refuses to leave the world of the living until she rescues her younger brother after a tragic accident. Park Ji-hwan, known for The Outlaws series, plays the dokkaebi yearning to become human, promising unexpected chemistry with Kim. Cho Yeo-jeong of Parasite adds tension as Ju-bo, a shaman relentlessly pursuing Yoon-ha.
Also joining the cast are Ji Il-joo, Yoo Jae-myung — reuniting with director Hong — and multi-hyphenate Baek Hyun-jin, completing a solid lineup.
With unique character dynamics and a boldly original universe, the fantasy occult comedy Revenger is already raising expectations.
