Mnet's Korea-Japan joint survival program UNPRETTY RAPSTAR: HIPPOP PRINCESS has confirmed its final seven-member debut lineup.
On the 19th, Mnet announced the debut members as Nam Yuju, Coco, Niko, Yoon Seoyoung, Kim Doi, Lino, and Kim Sujin. The group will make a simultaneous debut in Korea and Japan in the first half of next year.
The finale stage, aired the day before, was divided into three units. Each team showcased flashy performances and bubbly charm with brand-new songs. The global vote was determined by combining Korea 40%, Japan 40%, and other regions 20%.
In the final rankings, Nam Yuju took first place. She said, "I've waited for this moment for a long time, and I'm truly grateful to everyone who voted and supported me so I could debut as No. 1." Previously, she appeared on Mnet audition programs CAP-TEEN, Stars Awakening, I-LAND2, and on her fourth try, she finally clinched No. 1 and secured her debut ticket.
Joining Nam Yuju are Coco (2nd), Niko (3rd), Yoon Seoyoung (4th), Kim Doi (5th), Lino (6th), and Kim Sujin (7th). They plan to debut next year under the team name 'Hype Princess' in the K-pop scene.
UNPRETTY RAPSTAR: HIPPOP PRINCESS is a follow-up that returns nine years after 'Unpretty Rapstar' Season 3 aired in 2016, newly introduced as a Korea-Japan joint project aiming to form a global hip-hop girl group.
Meanwhile, the final debut lineup plans to begin activities in Korea and Japan in the first half of next year through a contract with Chapter i, a joint venture between CJ ENM and Japanese advertising agency Hakuhodo.
