Singer Kim Jae-hwan, formerly of Wanna One, officially completed his mandatory military service on December 31 and returned to civilian life.
Through his agency WAKEONE, Kim shared his thoughts on discharge, saying, “My time in the military band was a valuable experience that made me reflect on myself.” He added, “While faithfully carrying out my duties day by day, I learned what responsibility and consistency truly mean.”
Kim expressed gratitude to those he served with, saying, “Thanks to my fellow enlistees and my seniors and juniors, I was able to complete my service safely without major issues.” He also thanked fans for their unwavering support throughout his enlistment.
Looking ahead, he said, “Now that I’m back in society, I will calmly do my best in my place, drawing on everything I gained during my service,” signaling his determination for future activities.
Kim enlisted in July last year and served in the military band. After debuting with Wanna One in 2017, he transitioned into a solo career following the group’s disbandment, steadily building his own musical identity.
Known for his clear tone, stable vocals, and polished stage presence, Kim explored a wide range of genres prior to enlistment, most recently with his seventh mini album I Adore. With his discharge marking a new chapter, anticipation is growing for his next steps in music.
