The animated film K-Pop: Demon Hunters, directed by Korean American filmmaker Maggie Kang, pulled off a notable double win at the 31st Critics Choice Awards.
Held on the 4th at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, the ceremony saw the film take home both Animated Feature and Best Song. The movie edged out major contenders including Zootopia 2, Elio, In Your Dreams, and Arco to secure the top animation prize.
Its soundtrack track Golden was also awarded Best Song, further cementing the film’s impact beyond animation circles. The K-Pop: Demon Hunters soundtrack has already gained momentum on the global awards circuit, with Golden nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards and the full album competing for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
With Grammy nominations spanning multiple categories, the production team is now being watched closely as a potential multi-award contender in the coming months.
The Critics Choice Awards are organized by the Critics Choice Association, a body of roughly 600 broadcast and film critics from the United States and Canada, and are widely regarded as a strong indicator of awards-season momentum.
