Model and broadcaster Han Hye Jin opened up about the chaos and gratitude she felt during last year's YouTube channel hacking, candidly recalling the ordeal — and spotlighting her deep trust and friendship with Poongja.
On January 5, a video featuring comedian Um Ji-yoon and broadcaster Poongja was uploaded to Han Hye Jin's YouTube channel. Looking back on the past year, the trio shared a range of stories. Han said, "My YouTube channel suddenly shut down and got hacked. I couldn't monitor it in real time, and only after it was restored did I see the messages people left," adding, "I was so grateful — and at the same time sorry — for everyone's concern. It was a feeling I'd never experienced before."
In the unexpected crisis, the first person who came to Han's mind was Poongja. Han recalled, "When things got really urgent, I naturally ended up calling Poongja," to which Poongja added with a laugh, "She called me at 7 a.m., and as soon as I picked up she asked, 'What should I do?' I'd never seen Hye Jin that flustered before." Han continued, "The fact that Poongja was the first person I thought of in that moment says everything about our relationship," expressing her gratitude.
Poongja didn't hide her trust in Han either. Having recently made headlines for losing about 27 kg (nearly 60 pounds), Poongja said, "Hye Jin is behind this change," explaining, "She gave me nonstop advice on everything from diet to workouts. I was able to lose weight because of her." Han beamed, saying, "You keep upgrading your prime."
Han then told Poongja, "I feel like you're always trying to play the 'older-sister' role, and it weighs on me," before adding, "These days, I think I lean on you more. When things get tough, you can lean on me, too," leaving a lasting impression.
