Actor Lomon turned heads by naming Son Heung-min as his role model while preparing for his new role.
At the press conference on the 16th for SBS's new Friday–Saturday drama No Tail To Tell, Lomon discussed his character Kang Si-yeol: "Because he's written as a world-class soccer player, I felt from the very first script that he was an extraordinary figure." He added, "Among soccer players, I studied Son Heung-min and Zlatan Ibrahimović," noting, "Kang Si-yeol is a character that blends the charms of both."
He continued, "I'm not actually great at soccer, so starting a few months before filming, I took lessons five days a week for two to three hours a day," adding, "To portray a player's mindset, attitude, and passion, I also had many in-depth conversations with friends who play professionally."
When asked to send Son Heung-min a video message, he said, "Thanks to you, I was able to build Si-yeol as a character. Happy New Year, and please show our drama lots of love," drawing smiles at the event.
Meanwhile, No Tail To Tell—a chaotic, life-saving fantasy romance about a Gen MZ gumiho (a nine-tailed fox from Korean folklore) who doesn't want to become human and a human overflowing with self-love—premieres today at 9:50 p.m.
