Celebrity fitness trainer Yang Chi Seung revealed his deep bond with actor Kim Woo Bin — and the emotional story behind it — moving viewers to tears.

On the January 19 broadcast of KBS2's variety show Malja Show, which marked its first episode after being picked up for a regular slot, the program featured people looking to make a fresh start. As the day's "empathy guest," Yang also spoke candidly about his own past.

"So much happened last year," Yang began, recalling a difficult time. He had to shut down his gym after falling victim to a jeonse (lease deposit) scam involving his building. "When the gym collapsed, an even better opportunity actually came my way," he said, surprising everyone as he revealed he recently re-entered the workforce at a major building management company.

Yang then opened up about a heartfelt concern regarding his personal relationships. When comedian Jung Beom Gyun noted, "When Kim Woo Bin was diagnosed with cancer, the first person who visited him was Director Yang," Yang cautiously shared more details about their long friendship.

"Woo Bin got married, but I wasn't invited. He knew I was going through a tough time and didn't want to burden me — it was his way of being considerate," Yang explained. He added, "When Woo Bin was ill, I set up a small home gym for him. Working out helped him a lot, and he still keeps those memories close to his heart," once again proving the strength of their bond.

The atmosphere grew even warmer when it was mentioned that Kim Woo Bin recently expressed his gratitude on-air to Yang — the mentor who once even provided free personal training during his trainee days. Yang wrapped up with a heartfelt message: "Anyway, Woo Bin, congratulations on your marriage — sincerely."

Comedian Kim Young Hee closed the show by saying, "In relationships, peace begins when you let go of expectations. Over time, the good and the bad naturally sort people out."

Meanwhile, KBS2's Malja Show airs every Monday at 10 p.m.
