Actor Bae In-hyuk transforms into a man who suddenly finds himself caring for a child overnight.
On the 20th, the team behind tvN's new Wednesday–Thursday drama Galaxy unveiled stills of assistant photographer Seon Tae-hyeong (played by Bae In-hyuk), a man with a tough-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside charm.
In the stills, Bae In-hyuk grabs attention with a bright smile as he holds a camera. Though stuck with the assistant title, he's skilled enough to draw jealousy from the lead photographer. There's also a different reason he can't let go of the camera. Outwardly prickly, Tae-hyeong carries a long-held, unresolved story—fueling curiosity about his hidden past.
In particular, the unpredictable daily life of "newbie caregiver" Tae-hyeong stands out. Wearing a baby carrier with his 20-month-old nephew U-ju (Park Yoo-ho), his flustered expression adds to the fun. Viewers are eager to see how co-parenting with Woo Hyeon-jin (Roh Jeong-eui)—to whom he's connected through in-law ties—will change him.
Explaining why he chose the project, Bae said, "I was impressed by how realistically it portrayed an inexperienced guardian struggling to care for a child," adding, "Living with my nephew U-ju leads to many fun incidents, and U-ju's cuteness is a huge draw."
He continued, "Tae-hyeong is someone with hidden pain who doesn't open up easily, and I wanted the audience to clearly see how he slowly changes," describing his acting focus.
He also said that filming made him feel deep respect for parents: "I was reminded again of how amazing parents are and what responsibility really means."
Galaxy, which tells the story of a man and woman whose first meeting goes terribly wrong and who end up co-parenting their 20-month-old nephew U-ju overnight as in-laws, premieres on February 4.
