World-renowned filmmaker Bong Joon Ho has received a Prime Minister's Commendation in recognition of his exemplary tax compliance.
On March 3, at the 60th 'Taxpayers' Day' ceremony, the government announced that Director Bong was presented with the Prime Minister's Commendation in his capacity as CEO of his production company Offscreen.
Through numerous works including Memories of Murder, The Host, Mother, Parasite, Bong has elevated the global profile of Korean arts and culture, and his diligent tax payments have been praised as a model for society. The government also highly valued his role in expanding the diversity of screen culture and contributing to social progress.
Meanwhile, following last year's worldwide unveiling of his Hollywood-directed Mickey 17, Bong is now accelerating preparations for his next project, The Valley.
