On March 12, ILLIT was named one of the 'Best 3 New Artists (Asia)' at the 40th Japan Gold Disc Awards, marking a second consecutive win and cementing their rising popularity in Japan.
According to BELIFT LAB, ILLIT made the winners list for the 'Best 3 New Artists (Asia)' category at the 40th Japan Gold Disc Awards.
Launched in 1987, the Japan Gold Disc Awards are presented by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) to artists and works that contribute to the development of Japan’s music industry. Winners in each category are selected based on annual sales of albums and music videos, as well as streaming and download figures. The 'Best 3 New Artists (Asia)' category is awarded to the top three rookie artists from Asia, excluding Japan.
The group also took home trophies at the ceremony last year. With their debut track 'Magnetic,' they swept three categories: 'Song of the Year by Download (Asia),' 'Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia),' and 'Best 5 Songs by Streaming.' ILLIT said, "Following 'Magnetic,' we're thrilled to also be recognized as artists. We sincerely thank GLIT (our official fandom) for always being by our side."
Meanwhile, ILLIT is launching their first tour, 'ILLIT LIVE PRESS START,' with shows across seven cities in Korea and overseas.
