Virtual group OWIS is stepping into the K-pop scene with a debut album that spotlights each member’s distinct vocal color.
On March 11, OWIS dropped a highlight medley for their first mini album, 'MUSEUM,' via their official social media accounts.
The clip previews eight tracks, including the title song 'MUSEUM.' Sensory visual art matches each track’s mood to expand OWIS’s enigmatic universe. In particular, the interplay of black-and-white and color, a miniature music box, and sleek motion graphics create a vintage aesthetic that instantly grabs attention.
The title track 'MUSEUM' is a mid-tempo number anchored by a gentle guitar riff. It embodies “an archive where fragments of forgotten innocence and passion begin to breathe again,” with member Summer participating in the lyrics for added authenticity.
The B-sides span a wide range of genres: the pop track 'airplane:143' layered with synths and rhythm; the easy-listening cut 'juicy' driven by a smooth guitar loop and minimal beat; and the restrained, beat-forward 'missing piece.' The set continues with 'lonely lullaby,' which glides between the elegance of classic jazz and modern rhythms; the Afrobeats-based pop track 'ONLY WHEN I SLEEP'; 'forNEVER,' fusing hip-hop and R&B; and the English version of the title track—eight songs in total that showcase OWIS’s signature mood.
OWIS’s first mini album 'MUSEUM' will be released on March 23 at 6 p.m. KST across major digital music platforms.
