Former WINNER member Nam Tae-hyun has reportedly been sought a prison term by prosecutors.
On the 12th, the Criminal Division 11 (single-judge) of the Seoul Western District Court held the second hearing on Nam Tae-hyun’s alleged violation of the Road Traffic Act. Prosecutors argued that his offense was grave due to reoffending, a high blood alcohol concentration, and the fact that he was caught during a suspended sentence, and requested one year and six months in prison and a fine of 1 million won.
Previously, on April 27, Nam was accused of hitting a median strip near Dongjak-daero by Gangbyeonbuk-ro toward Ilsan while attempting to overtake the car in front.
There were no injuries at the time, but Nam’s blood alcohol concentration was reportedly at or above 0.08%, a level that revokes a driver’s license in Korea. He also allegedly drove at 182 km/h, far exceeding the 80 km/h speed limit on the road.
The incident drew even more controversy when it was revealed that his DUI occurred while he was on a suspended sentence for drug use charges.
