Actor Baek Sung-hyun’s heartwarming gesture is drawing praise.
According to production company NextSketch on the 12th, Baek sent a snack truck to the rehearsal site of the musical Eyes of Dawn on the 11th to cheer on fellow cast members and staff. The truck carried a message that read, "We will all work together for the success of Eyes of Dawn," further lifting the mood on site.
Amid recent performance cancellations sparked by a pay dispute between the production company and some actors, attention is on whether Baek’s support can help turn the tide. Addressing the controversy, Baek apologized on his Instagram, saying, "As one of the lead actors, I feel a heavy responsibility for the current disruption of the production." He added, "This situation stems from structural issues between the production company and all the actors, and I ask for your understanding of the hardships faced by fellow actors who had no choice but to make difficult decisions in pursuit of their rightful rights."
Meanwhile, Baek has been newly cast as Choi Dae-chi and is set to take the stage starting on the 17th. Eyes of Dawn runs through April 26.
