Comedian Nam Chang Hee has revealed the love story behind his marriage to Yoon Young Kyung.
On the 12th, model and TV personality Hong Jin Kyung’s YouTube channel uploaded a video featuring behind-the-scenes moments from Nam Chang Hee’s wedding. Nam tied the knot with Yoon on February 22 at The Shilla Seoul.
Nam said he first learned about his wife through an introduction from an acquaintance. After his manager recommended checking her out on social media, he felt a spark and asked to meet in person. However, at their first meeting, she felt pressured and effectively turned him down.
Things changed when they later met again with a friend. While Nam was trying to keep his feelings under wraps, the friend blurted out, “Chang Hee likes you.” That friend was none other than fellow comedian Jo Se Ho. “Denying it would’ve been even weirder, so I just told her how I felt,” Nam recalled.
Even so, their contact fizzled out afterward. Nam reached out a few more times, but nothing stuck. The turning point for the two—who had known each other for nearly six years—came in the most unexpected way.
After Nam posted a promo on his social media Story for Mighty Mouth’s song ‘Will Love Come?’, Yoon replied, “Is love coming?” He immediately suggested they meet; they got together the next day, talked, and soon became a couple. After about four and a half years of dating, they married.
Meanwhile, Yoon Young Kyung previously appeared on MBC’s variety show Infinite Challenge in the ‘Hongcheol, Let’s Get You Married’ special. She went viral for resembling IU, earning the nickname ‘Han River IU.’
