Actor Park Shin-hye made a heartwarming donation of 100 million won to support single-parent families.

The international relief and development NGO Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) announced that Park Shin-hye contributed 100 million won to aid single-parent households. The donation is part of the 'Starlight Angel Project,' a charitable initiative she has carried out with fans worldwide since 2012.

Notably, this contribution was inspired by her recent appearance in the tvN drama Undercover Miss Hong. Playing the role of Hong Geum-bo, Park portrayed up close the realities and hardships faced by single-parent families, which deepened her empathy and led her to focus attention on families in real need beyond the screen.

Her team shared, "While witnessing Misuk and Bom's lives in dorm room 301 on screen, we wanted to offer a bit of help and warmth to single-parent families going through similar struggles."

According to KFHI, the funds will provide livelihood and childcare support for single-parent families experiencing financial and emotional difficulties. The organization aims to ease the burden on households that must handle both caregiving and income, and to help children grow up in a stable environment.
