Band LATENCY is signaling a fresh start.
On the 18th at 6 p.m., LATENCY will make their official debut to music fans with their first mini album 'LATE O'CLOCK.' After hinting at a bold sonic shift with the pre-release single 'It Was Love,' the group is set to fully unveil their identity and story through this record.
LATENCY has drawn attention as a band formed by members who built stage experience in different groups. Former cignature members Jiwon, Haeun, and Semi have teamed up with LOONA's Hyunjin to take on a new musical challenge. Guitarist Heeyeon, known for exceptional playing skills, has also joined, elevating the team's completeness.
Each member takes up an instrument to craft the band's sound. Hyunjin is on drums, Jiwon on guitar, Haeun on keyboards, and Semi on bass, with Heeyeon's guitar work adding another layer to forge LATENCY's distinct color. They aim to merge the images shown in their previous idol group activities with performance-driven band music to present a new direction.
The debut mini album 'LATE O'CLOCK' is a symbolic work that heralds the team's beginning. The title captures the moment that feels 'late' yet lands exactly on time, delivering a message of refusing to give up on their dreams despite anxiety and delays.
The album features five tracks in total, including the pre-release 'It Was Love.' Centered on the band's trademark energy and emotional arc, it narratively channels their passion for music and hunger for the stage.
Alongside the album release, LATENCY will also drop a music video, officially kicking off their promotions. All eyes are on what kind of musical color these former idol group members will showcase in their new band format.
